Amanda S. Herzberg
Amanda Herzberg is a Chemist with the USGS Geology, Energy & Minerals (GEM) Science Center in Reston, Virginia.
Amanda is a Chemist in the Brine Research Instrumentation and Experimental (BRInE) Laboratory on the Energy Resources Program funded Oil and Gas Waters Project. She collects samples for analysis, and performs a suite of analytical tests including water quality parameters, physical measurements, anions via ion chromatography, and major, minor and trace cations via inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry. She lends logistical support in produced water field sampling campaigns and leads development of novel analytical methods assessing the inorganic composition of geologic materials. She completed her B.S. in Chemistry at Northwest Missouri State University in 2020.
