3D Hydrography Program Announcements and HydroAdd3D Sneak Peak
January 2025 USGS Hydrography Community Call recording is now available
The USGS Hydrography Community Call on January 28, 2025 announced the release of updated Elevation-Derived Hydrography Specifications and the publication of the several USGS Hydrography products and services.
Steve Aichele, the National Geospatial Program Hydrography Management and Planning Lead, shared news about available USGS Hydrography products and services:
- The final Watershed Boundary Dataset is available as a Web Map Service (WMS) and as downloadable datasets (National and HU2)
- 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP) National Downloadable Datasets for Alaska and the contiguous U.S. (CONUS), available in geodatabase and geopackage formats
3DHP Esri Feature Service, a new web service that provides users the flexibility of a downloadable dataset

Mike Tinker, Cartographer with the National Geospatial Technical Operations Center, presented the special topic “HydroAdd3D Sneak Peak: Next generation web-based hydrography addressing tool”. HydroAdd3d is a web-based tool that will enable users to address data to the 3DHP stream network.
