Flooding in the US-April 2025

These Landsat 8 images show an area of the east central portion of the United States that experienced major flooding in early April 2025. 

In the March 22nd  image muted hues of tan pocked with some green areas indicate vegetation awakening from winter dormancy, and the reservoirs and waterways are well within their banks.  By April 7th, the rivers and waterways were overflowing from more than 15 inches of rain in some areas, and the vegetation quickly emerged from winter dormancy to seasonal springtime green hues.
