Map of U.S. Geological Survey PFAS study areas. Specific points indicate: 1) Surface water and field studies (teal circles), 2) PFAS in tapwater studies (black circles), 3) PFAS in groundwater studies (black circles), and 4) Sites where atmospheric samples were collected (purple circles). In addition, larger sampling areas were also identified for sample collections taken at either a watershed (blue), state or territory (grey), or zip code level (mint green). To show the proximity of where samples are collected to the Department of Defense lands (DoD), the DoD lands are identified in yellow.
